The Sunrise Regional Health Authority met on June 29th and amongst topics of discussion was physician recruitment and retention in Preeceville.
Sunrise President and CEO Suann Laurent commented on what is currently being done in Preeceville and what residents can expect to come. She says one physician is currently in the Saskatchewan International Physician Practice Assessment, and is expected to start October 1st once training is completed. Also there’s still no emergency and acute inpatient services at the hospital, but hours have been extended clinic hours until the two new doctors arrive in October.
Community reps from Preeceville were present at the meeting and were imformed that the Health Authority have to meet with the 3 physicians to determine what’s possible for emergency and acute inpatient services.
