One name won’t be on the ballot for Melville’s civic election October 26th.
Member of Melville’s City Council Brian Hicke says he won’t be running for council nor mayor, because he felt it was time for a change, paired with frustration.
The fact renumeration for councillors wasn’t going up is a possible factor, and when asked if it was Hicke said it may have contributed, but it wasn’t the main reason.
But in looking back at his time as a member, Hicke says there are a few highlights, including new railings for the Horizon Credit Union Centre, a new water treatment plant that’s on the way, and slowly getting Melville’s infrastructure straightened out.
Hicke made the announcement during Tuesday’s regular council meeting.
