A man who beheaded and cannibalized another man on a Greyhound bus in Manitoba nearly a decade ago, has received an absolute discharge.
That means Will Baker, formerly known as Vince Li, has complete freedom, and doesn’t have to live under any conditions.
The Manitoba Criminal Code Review Board made the decision, and found that Baker was not criminally responsible for the death of Tim McLean, a young carnival worker, in 2008.
Furthermore the Review Board says, in a written decision, Baker no longer poses a threat to the public.
But the mother of the victim, Carol de Delley, who has expressed her opposition to granting Baker’s freedom, was shocked to hear of the news.
In a Facebook post Friday, she said — quote — “I have no words.”
