A 9-year-old Gull Lake Saskatchewan goalie is raising funds for a foundation that helps his friend who has autism.
But the way Berney Weston is raising funds isn’t by your regular lemonade stand, even though he did consider it according to Weston’s mother.
Instead he is using his playoff appearance tonight (Mon), in Gull Lake, to accomplish his goal, and online supporters have pledged to donate 130 dollars for every save Berney makes.
The boy averages 20-30 saves a game.
Every dollar that’s raised will go to the Casey Foundation – a charity that Weston’s friend Chayce Foster benefits from.
Chayce’s mother, Rachelle Foster says this fundraiser is “absolutely wonderful” and is excited about it.
