Its a Public Relations nightmare for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The football club found out Thursday that defensive lineman Jordan Reaves was playing last season while reportedly out on bail on a cocaine trafficking offence.
In a statement today (Fri) they were quote “disappointed to learn of the legal situation” adding Reaves maintains his innocence and will not discuss the matter further.
Reaves is set to stand trial from November 20-24 in Winnipeg on the charges stemming from a traffic stop in that city.
Manitoba court documents show he had previously admitted to drug trafficking charges in 2008.
The Winnipeg-native played in 5 regular season games with Saskatchewan last year.
