Manitoba has appointed a new Children’s Advocate.
Daphne Penrose was recommended by the province’s all-party Standing Committee on Legislative Affairs, and was subsequently approved by the lieutenant-governor.
Penrose begins her new role immediately.
She will replace the outgoing Children’s Advocate Darlene MacDonald, who has served the maximum two terms allowed by law.
Penrose has 28 years of public service experience, with 10 of those years at the executive level within the child and family services system.
