A Buchanan man is in custody after allegedly ramming a police cruiser near Canora.
Mounties say they conducted a traffic stop on Highway 5, west of the town, late Thursday night.
After initially pulling over, the suspect vehicle suddenly reversed and rammed the police vehicle.
After turning around, the vehicle again rammed the police cruiser, this time head-on.
The adult male driver and lone occupant then got out of the vehicle, carrying an axe, and struck the police vehicle while yelling threats.
The suspect and two members sustained minor injuries in the incident.
34-year-old Kristopher-Lee Steenman faces 17 in charges in all, and is scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Monday.
