A 19-year-old Cote First Nation man has been charged, following a May 10th report of an adult male brandishing a knife at school on the reserve.
Lloyd Norman Straightnose is charged with one count of Assault with a Weapon and one count of Uttering Threats.
He is scheduled to appear in Kamsack Provincial Court on July 18th.
On that May 18th morning, after 9 a.m., the Chief Gabriel Cote Education Complex went into lockdown after the suspect allegedly pulled a knife on an employee, then climbed to the roof of the building.
The protocol was lifted after RCMP arrested the accused without incident at 10:30 a.m.
No students or teachers were hurt during the incident.
