Former Saskatchewan Roughrider Justin Cox has been found not guilty of assault causing bodily harm.
At his trial yesterday (Mon) in Regina Judge Pat Reis says there is no evidence to support the charge after hearing from 5 witnesses.
Back on April 18th Cox was arrested in connection to a report of a woman found with injuries consistent with a physical attack, at a home in Regina.
One of the witnesses, Riders wide receiver Joe Craig, who was living with Cox, told court that the couple was arguing over the code for an iPhone.
He says he was standing between Cox and the woman, and he never saw him hit her. Craig added Cox did not push her down a flight of stairs, but that she fell.
The woman told court that the braid was a loose hair extension that came out when she fell down the stairs.
Cox was cut from the Riders a day after the CFL team learned police charged him as a result of investigating allegations of domestic violence.
But Cox hopes he can resume his pro football career.
