A 15-year-old Yorkton boy has admitted to his role in an attempted armed robbery in the city.
On March 27th, two boys, who can’t be named due to their ages, decided to rob a drug dealer of his marijuana.
A 17-year-old got into a vehicle being driven by a reported drug dealer, and pointed a sawed-off shotgun at his head, demanding the drugs.
The driver panicked, backed his vehicle into a parked vehicle and a snow bank, and the youths fled.
In Yorkton Provincial Court this (Thu) morning, the 15-year-old boy pleaded guilty to 7 charges, including Robbery with a Firearm.
He was sentenced to 15 months of secure custody, to be followed by 7-and-a-half months of community supervision, and 1 year of probation, as well as a 7-year firearm prohibition.
His 17-year-old co-accused was sentenced in April.
