The raiding of a George Gordon’s First Nation home lead to the seizure of a loaded AR 669 SKS rifle, along with just over 700 rounds of ammunition, knives, a small quantity of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, and unrelated pieces of personal identification.
Punnichy RCMP executed a search warrant on Thursday, June 29th, and it also resulted in charges being laid against 3 people.
Hubert McNab, 23, and Cody Gordon, 25, both of the Gordon’s First Nation have been charged with unlawful possession and unsafe storage of a firearm. Kayla Runns, 22, of the Carry the Kettle First Nation is also charged with the same offences.
McNab has been released and will appear in Punnichy Provincial Court August 15th, while Gordon and Runns have been remanded until July 4th for their court appearance also in Punnichy.
