Saskatchewan’s jobs numbers have the NDP in a worrisome mood, while the governing SaskParty is saying the numbers are slowly on the up-and-up.
Jobs Critic Trent Wotherspoon says Saskatchewan seems to be the only province outside the Atlantic where unemployment in part time work is rising.
Wotherspoon pinned the issue on various cuts made by the SaskParty.
Finance Minister Kevin Doherty also responded to the numbers.
He says the main reason the numbers are where they are is due to Saskatchewan’s commodity sector which plays a vital role in jobs across the province.
Doherty says as it continues to recover jobs will rebound as well.
