A new trial date has been set for a Canora man, facing 7 animal cruelty-related charges.
The matters for 74-year-old Walter Goba will now be heard on September 8th.
Back on June 30th, the judge declared a mistrial, after it was learned that the defence lawyer had not received all of the disclosure from Goba’s previous counsel.
Some of the charges allege that horses were in distress in the Willowbrook area between September and December of 2013.
Back in April of 2014, Goba pleaded guilty to animal abuse stemming from charges in the Swan Valley, and he received a 6-month conditional sentence, as well as a 10-year ban on owning pets or livestock.
