The harvest is ripe and in this case the workers are not few, as the combining portion of the Health Foundation’s “Farming for Health” campaign starts.
The canola field is about 380 acres in size and is located south of Queen Street and west of Highway 9.
Executive Director Ross Fisher says their canola field looks great.
“The guys have done a wonderful job with it this year,” Fisher said in reference to the three farm implement dealerships who are handling the Health Foundation’s parcel of land: Pattison Agriculture, Rocky Mountain Equipment and Yorkton New Holland.
Fisher says with weather permitting, he hopes the combining is done by tomorrow (Wed).
The money raised from “Farming for Health” this year will be allocated to the future construction of a new Yorkton Regional Health Centre.
