Traffic at the junction of Highways 38 and 49 in Kelvington was diverted for about 7 hours on Saturday afternoon, after a fatal collision between a westbound semi and a southbound Ford F-150 pickup.
Initial investigation by the Greenwater RCMP revealed the white truck failed to stop at a stop sign, and was then struck by the blue semi that was travelling on highway 49 and was hauling gravel at the time.
The collision killed the passenger of the truck, a 98-year-old woman, and hospitalized the driver of the truck, a 66-year-old man, who later died from his injuries, which were described as serious.
The 52-year-old man driving the semi had no injuries.
RCMP continue to investigate and so far have not laid any charges.
