Starting October 23rd, flu vaccines will be made available to everyone within the Sunrise Health Region.
Sunrise will be opening up 95 clinics in 37 communities. A list of all the flu clinics will be delivered to every mailbox in the region next week. A Saskatchewan Health Card is needed when visiting one of these clinics.
Medical Health Officer for Sunrise Dr. Ashok Chhetri says the sooner you get immunized the better.
He says the flu is among the top 10 leading causes of death in Canada, so it’s important to protect yourself and your loved ones by getting immunized.
The flu vaccine is recommended for all residents, especially younger children, pregnant women, those over 65, people with underlying health conditions and those who are immune-compromised.
