Nursing educators across the country will be gathering in Saskatoon tomorrow (Wed) through Friday for their annual conference.
The Canadian Association of Practical Nurse Educators 17th Annual Conference is being hosted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
Karen Ullyott, the head of the Practical Nursing program in Prince Albert and chair of the Canadian Association, says this year’s theme is looking beyond the horizon, with the biggest topics including preparing students to navigating the nursing environment, Indigenization of practical nurse education, and strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
Ullyott says a number of the school’s faculty will be presenting their expertise, and says the conference is a great way to promote SaskPolytech and Saskatoon.
The conference goes to a different province each year, and the last time it was in Saskatchewan was in 2008.
