If you’re in the Fort Qu’Appelle or Balcarres area, and are wondering on Monday morning (23rd) why the lights aren’t working, or your coffee maker isn’t brewing, here’s why.
SaskPower announced today (Fri) that there will be a planned power outage that day from 9 a.m. to noon so they can replace aging power lines running between Fort Qu’Appelle and Regina.
Crews will turn everything off and re-route the power to a different line, so work can start. The temporary line will be in place until sometime next month, when SaskPower will shut the power down again, and re-route it to the new lines.
It’s hoped the new and improved power lines will deliver more reliable electricity to those areas.
