The opposition is raising concerns about the public service in Saskatchewan.
NDP critic Warren McCall says public servants are being asked to take a 250-million-dollar wage cut and have been threatened with job loss.
Finance minister Donna Harpauer says collective bargaining will determine if the public service will follow the MLA’s salary cut of 3.5 percent.
She accused the NDP of funny math, wanting more services yet ignoring the need to balance the budget.
She says the province has increased the number of teachers, doctors and nurses.
Harpauer says the SaskParty government will not follow the NDP plan, of closing schools and health care facilities to balance the books.
