Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall has a problem with what Governor General Julie Payette said recently.
Last week, Payette said, in a speech, people are still debating whether or not the creation of life resulted from natural processes or divine intervention.
She also praised Canada’s freedom of religion and tolerance.
This drew the ire of some who say she mocked people of faith.
Wall says if that’s what she believes in, that is fine, but shouldn’t present those views publicly.
The Premier adds he sent a letter to Payette, which said she is qualified to serve as Governor General, given her public service record and professional accomplishments, but her comments were inappropriate for someone who is in a prominent position.
