Crews at SaskEnergy have fully repaired a ruptured pipeline and continue to restore natural gas services to affected customers in the Melfort area.
On Wednesday morning a line between Weldon and Birch Hills broke, which affected 45-hundred customers in St. Brieux, Kinistino and Melfort.
Just about every one of those customers have services back online, and spokesperson Casey MacLeod says if others still have issues, they can give them a call.
“We do ask that you give us a call at 1-888-700-0427, and we can make sure that we get someone sent to them as quick as possible.”
MacLeod says the next step is figuring out what happened.
We were able to get that line fully repaired last night (Jan. 10) around 9 o’clock, and then it took a couple of hours to get that section of the system back up and running and pressurized again,” she said. “Now moving forward we will be moving into the investigation phase to find out exactly what caused that rupture.”
