A fine of $5-thousand dollars plus a surcharge is what former SaskParty MLA Bill Boyd received after he pleaded guilty to an environmental and wildlife charge.
Two charges under the Environmental Protection and Management Act were withdrawn.
He admitted to altering wildlife habitat and ecological lands near Eston last year.
He was originally charged with four offences last year, after he was granted approval by the Water Security Agency for irrigation work on land adjacent to protected wildlife habitat.
Not long after the charges were laid, Boyd was removed from the SaskParty caucus after the conflict of interest commissioner found problems with his business trip to China. He then resigned his seat.
