The crackdown on illegal marijuana business is on in Regina.
Regina Police obtained warrants on six businesses, detained several people, and seized hundreds of pounds of drugs, cash and other paraphenalia.
Chief Evan Bray says they gave plenty of warning and advisement to the businesses, and a majority of them heeded it and closed.
For those that didn’t, he notes this was the next step.
“Really our efforts were to try and make sure to keep the community safe. We did everything to educate not only the community but those potentially in jeopardy of facing a criminal charge and any criminal charges that come as a result after that warning to me is just part of the investigation that we’ll be doing.” said Bray.
With weed scheduled to be legalized later this summer, SLGA has approved six business licenses for Regina.
