Saskatchewan premier Scott Moe says the provincial government will go ahead with court action against the Federal government in regards to the carbon tax.
Moe says his government’s stance on the carbon tax remains strongly against it.
“What this means to the Saskatchewan Government and the people of Saskatchewan is we will be moving with our reference case to the court of appeal here in the province of Saskatchewan in the coming weeks where we will put forward at that point in time. The reason why moving with that we always said we will meet them in court if we have to and a carbon tax simply just isn’t right” said Moe.
The announcement comes after the federal government released a 556 page budget bill, with a plan to impose a carbon tax on Saskatchewan in the report.
