One of two men arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Melville on November 23rd, has admitted his guilt.
In Yorkton Provincial Court today (Tue), 21-year-old Evan Helmeczi pleaded guilty to Break and Enter, and Possession of Crystal Meth.
After receiving credit for the time he’s already spent in custody, Helmeczi was sentenced to an additional 16 months in jail.
The other man facing charges from the incident, 22-year-old Tristan Stradeski, is free on bail, and is scheduled to return to court in Yorkton next Tuesday.
Court was told Helmeczi broke into the home of Stradeski, while Stradeski is accused of shooting a 25-year-old man with a 22-calibre rifle.
