Quarterback Mike Reilly led the Edmonton Eskimos to the end zone on his team’s first two drives and they didn’t look back from there in a 35-12 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL’s first pre-season game of 2018 on Sunday.
Reilly, the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player last season, got the start and took the team down the field to score on their first possession, a three-yard touchdown run by CJ Gable.
Edmonton connected on its next drive as well, with Reilly hitting Duke Williams for a 20-yard TD strike to give the Eskimos an early 14-0 lead.
Brett Lauther kicked 4 field goals to supply all the offence for the Riders.
Saskatchewan will play their next preseason game on Friday June 8th when they host the Calgary Stampeders at Mosaic Stadium. GX94 will broadcast the game with Cooperators Roughrider Football, pregame 6:30 pxp at 7:30PM.
