Heavy damage is being reported from a storm that careened through the Elrose area last night.
Environment Canada’s Terri Lang says based on the radar it looks like a plough wind could have hit.
She notes a plough wind can get winds up to 180 kilometres an hour and can produce much more widespread damage.
“We can get those sort of out of an organized band of storms that we usually see those ahead of cold fronts last night. They form into a sort of these longer bands and a number of separate thunderstorms along these bands and this band keeps moving along the cold front” said Lang
There are no reports of tornados
