I got a kick out of this when I saw it. I think we need to start Dance Party Fridays here at GX94. Check out these guys. You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video
It’s Friday and that means new movies:
tn_Going_the_Distance_5Going the Distance – Erin’s (Drew Barrymore) wry wit and unfiltered frankness charm newly single Garrett (Justin Long) over beer, bar trivia and breakfast the next morning. Their chemistry sparks a full-fledged summer fling, but neither expects it to last once Erin heads home to San Francisco and Garrett stays behind for his job in New York City. But when six weeks of romping through the city inadvertently become meaningful, neither is sure they want it to end. And while Garrett’s friends, Box (Jason Sudeikis) and Dan (Charlie Day), joke about his pre-flight calorie cutting and his full-time relationship with his cell phone, they don’t like losing their best drinking buddy to yet another rocky romance. At the same time, Erin’s high-strung, overprotective married sister, Corrine (Christina Applegate), wants to keep Erin from heading down an all-too-familiar road. But despite the opposite coasts, the nay-saying friends and family, and a few unexpected temptations, the couple just might have found something like love, and with the help of a lot of texting, sexting and late-night phone calls, they might actually go the distance.

Machete - is based on the “fake” trailer in Robert Rodriguez’s 2007 “Grindhouse,” featuring Danny Trejo and Jeff Fahey reprising their original roles.

The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Steven Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (Robert De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Cheech Marin) his “holy” brother, and April (Lindsay Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Jessica Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.

tn_The_American_2The American - Academy Award winner George Clooney stars in the title role of this suspense thriller. As an assassin, Jack (Clooney) is constantly on the move and always alone. After a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad, Jack retreats to the Italian countryside. He relishes being away from death for a spell as he holes up in a small medieval town. While there, Jack takes an assignment to construct a weapon for a mysterious contact, Mathilde (Reuten). Savoring the peaceful quietude he finds in the mountains of Abruzzo, Jack accepts the friendship of local priest Father Benedetto (Bonacelli) and pursues a torrid liaison with a beautiful woman, Clara (Placido). Jack and Clara’s time together evolves into a romance, one seemingly free of danger. But by stepping out of the shadows, Jack may be tempting fate.

We should see some more Harvest action hopefully this weekend as it dries. The countdown is on for the Labour Day Classic and the team bashing is getting thick between Chris Maxwell (Bomber Fan) and myself a Rider fan. It’s all in good fun until the Bombers loose. They bash our riders for not being able to count but little does any body know that the Bombers get those too many men calls but nobody cares. Plus they never make it far enough into the playoffs to matter so keep poking fun and we will keep laughing all the way to the playoffs again. Plus they don’t have a loonie.

We are just days away from the Labour Day Classic in Regina and I can’t wait. I actually feel a little bit bad for Bomber fans making the trip this weekend. After last weeks performance or lack of it in Edmonton the Riders should be foaming at the mouth. Brad Bazin and myself will be heading to Taylor Field with our GX94 Countryside Motors Football Fanatic winners. Congrats to Livia Dahlin of Norquay our Rider fan and to Norm Davy of Swan River our Bomber fan. This will be a great time regardless of who wins even though we know it will be the Riders. Speaking of the Riders it is the final day to vote for Yorkton for Riderville at www.riderville.com. Good luck to all communities, we will find out the winner at the Labour Day game on Sunday.

Now for all of your movies hitting theatres today I am really looking forward to the movie Takers it looks great:
tn_The_Last_Exorcism_6The Last Exorcism - When he arrives on the rural Louisiana farm of Louis Sweetzer, the Reverend Cotton Marcus expects to perform just another routine “exorcism” on a disturbed religious fanatic. An earnest fundamentalist, Sweetzer has contacted the charismatic preacher as a last resort, certain his teenage daughter Nell is possessed by a demon who must be exorcized before their terrifying ordeal ends in unimaginable tragedy.

Buckling under the weight of his conscience after years of parting desperate believers with their money, Cotton and his crew plan to film a confessionary documentary of this, his last exorcism. But upon arriving at the already blood drenched family farm, it is soon clear that nothing could have prepared him for the true evil he encounters there. Now, too late to turn back, Reverend Marcus’ own beliefs are shaken to the core when he and his crew must find a way to save Nell – and themselves – before it is too late.

tn_Takers_PosterTakers - “Takers,” directed by John Luessenhop, revolves around a notorious group of criminals (Idris Elba, Paul Walker, T.I., Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen and Michael Ealy) who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies. They are in and out like clockwork, leaving no evidence behind and laying low in between heists. But when they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before, the crew may find their plans interrupted by a hardened detective (Matt Dillon) who is hell-bent on solving the case.

Later today I will be at Yorkton Hyundai telling you about all the great deals. It looks that it may be a beauty of a day today. Don’t forget to check out our GX94 Radio Internet Auction today at http://hodginsauctioneers.cusauctions.com/?auction=GXAUG10 this is a direct link. Items will start closing at 7pm Sask Time Monday. As well just a heads up to vote Yorkton for Riderville again at www.riderville.com. Have you ever wondered what the largest Yacht in the world looks like? The newest yacht in Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich’s fleet is the largest private yacht now in existence. It boasts a missile-detection system, a luxury spa, two helipads, a swimming pool, and a miniature submarine. It reportedly cost more than $400 million. To keep out the prying eyes of the paparazzi, the yacht has an electronic “shield” that can detect light sensors in digital cameras and make them unable to take photos. They were able to take one picture, shields must have been down at the time.

I would have to say that I have a new favorite song these days. It is The Band Perry – If I die young. Just take the time to listen to the words, I think we all have had someone go way too soon or young. Here is the video I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
