I am going to start something new here, I am going to try and do a picture and video of the day. As for the first one it speaks for itself, five out of six children like sack races…
Which one would you be? Haha I got a kick out of that one. As for the video I can’t believe what some people do for fun. Here is a guy that pushes the limit on a dirt bike rock climbing, really impressive actually but still crazy.
With it being Tuesday that means new album release day. Here is what is new and out today: Little Big Town - The Reason Why
Marty Stuart - Ghost Train
Ricky Skaggs - Mosaic
What a great weekend. We had a birthday party for my son on Sunday and had a great day for it. Man did it get hot later in the day. We had a blast in the pool, BBQ a great steak dinner and had a great visit with family. Hopefully you had a nice weekend as well. Maybe you checked out one of the movies. Here is what happened at the box office this weekend.
Weekend Box Office
August 20, 2010 – August 22, 2010
First off I want to wish a huge Happy Birthday to my son Dylan. I can’t believe he is 2 already, I really don’t know where the time is going. Here is a picture of him a couple of months ago with a toy that Grandma and Grandpa Ismond gave him. He loves his puppies.
We will be spending the weekend outdoors with the nice weather. hopefully you enjoy your weekend as well.
This weekend looks promising weather wise which could put a dent in the box office sales but we will take summer while we get it. A couple of decent movies come out this weekend.

But once she’s arrived, Nanny McPhee discovers that Mrs. Green’s children are fighting a war of their own against two spoiled city cousins who have just moved in and refuse to leave.

Piranha 3D – From director Alexandre Aja (”The Hills Have Eyes”) comes the new action thriller “Piranha.” Every year the population of sleepy Lake Victoria explodes from 5,000 to 50,000 for Spring Break; a riot of sun and drunken fun. Animal Kingdom – Welcome to the Melbourne underworld. Following the death of his mother, seventeen year–old Joshua ‘J’ Cody (newcomer James Frecheville) moves in with his hitherto–estranged family, under the watchful eye of his doting grandmother, Janine ‘Smurf’ Cody (Jacki Weaver), and her three criminal sons – the Cody boys. Eldest son and armed robber, Andrew ‘Pope’ Cody (Ben Mendelsohn) is in hiding from a gang of renegade detectives. Middle brother Craig (Sullivan Stapleton) is a successful but volatile drug dealer, whilst the youngest Cody, Darren (Luke Ford), naïvely follows his elder brothers’ lead. Just as ‘Pope’s’ business partner and best friend, Barry Brown (Joel Edgerton), decides that he wants out of the game, recognising that their days of old–school banditry are all but over, tensions between the family and the police explode. ‘J’ finds himself at the centre of a cold–blooded revenge plot that turns his family upside down and which throws him directly into the path of senior homicide detective, Nathan Leckie (Guy Pearce). “Animal Kingdom” is a powerful crime drama exploring the tense battle between a criminal family and the police, and the ordinary lives caught in the middle.
Eat Pray Love – Liz Gilbert (Julia Roberts) had everything a modern woman is supposed to dream of having – a husband, a house, a successful career – yet like so many others, she found herself lost, confused, and searching for what she really wanted in life. Newly divorced and at a crossroads, Gilbert steps out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life, embarking on a journey around the world that becomes a quest for self-discovery. In her travels, she discovers the true pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy; the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of true love in Bali. Based upon the bestselling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert, “Eat Pray Love” proves that there really is more than one way to let yourself go and see the world.
The Expendables – Expendable: capable of being sacrificed in order to accomplish a military objective.
“The Expendables” is a hard-hitting action/thriller about a group of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. Once the mission begins, the men realize things aren’t quite as they appear, finding themselves caught in a dangerous web of deceit and betrayal. With their mission thwarted and an innocent life in danger, the men struggle with an even tougher challenge – one that threatens to destroy this band of brothers.
Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) is a man with nothing to lose. Fearless and void of emotion, he is the leader, the sage and the strategist of this tight-knit band of men who live on the fringe. His only attachment is to his pickup truck, his seaplane and his team of loyal modern-day warriors. His is a true cynic who describes what he does as “removing those hard to get at stains.” The team behind him is made up of Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), former SAS and a savant with anything that has a blade; Yin Yang (Jet Li), a master at close-quarter combat; Hale Caesar (Terry Crews), who has known Barney for ten years and is a long-barrel weapons specialist; Toll Road (Randy Couture), a skilled demolitions expert and considered the intellect of the group; and Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), a combat veteran and an expert in precision sniping who struggles with his own demons.
When the mysterious Church offers Barney a job no one else would take, Barney and his team embark on what appears to be a routine mission: overthrow General Gaza (David Zayas), the murderous dictator of the small island country of Vilena and end the years of death and destruction inflicted on its people. On a reconnaissance mission to Vilena, Barney and Christmas meet their contact Sandra (Giselle Itie), a local freedom-fighter with a dark secret. They also come to learn who their true enemy is: rogue ex-CIA operative James Monroe (Eric Roberts) and his henchman Paine (Steve Austin). When things go terribly wrong, Barney and Christmas are forced to leave Sandra behind, essentially giving her a death sentence. Haunted by this failure, Barney convinces the team to return to Vilena to rescue the hostage and finish the job he started. And to perhaps save a soul: his own.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World – Meet charming and jobless Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera). A bass guitarist for garage band Sex Bob-omb, the 22-year-old has just met the girl of his dreams…literally. The only catch to winning Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead)? Her seven evil exes are coming to kill him. Genre-smashing filmmaker Edgar Wright (”Hot Fuzz,” “Shaun of the Dead”) tells the amazing story of one romantic slacker’s quest to power up with love in “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.”
Scott Pilgrim has never had a problem getting a girlfriend. It’s getting rid of them that proves difficult. From the girl who kicked his heart’s ass–and now is back in town–to the teenage distraction he’s trying to shake when Ramona rollerblades into his world, love hasn’t been easy. He soon discovers, however, his new crush has the most unusual baggage of all: a nefarious league of exes controls her love life and will do whatever it takes to eliminate him as a suitor.
As Scott gets closer to Ramona, he must face an increasingly vicious rogues’ gallery from her past–from infamous skateboarders to vegan rock stars and fearsomely identical twins. And if he hopes to win his true love, he must vanquish them all before it really is game over.
It’s great to be back at it. I had a great holiday that included a trip to Red Deer to see some family and relaxing. It is hard to believe my holidays are over already though, They went way too fast. Over the days off I found out that the Flames will play an outdoor game in Calgary in February. I am at a cross roads I can’t decide if I want to go and possibly freeze in the stands or stay home in a controlled environment and watch it in HD. Myself and a friend that is a habs fan are kicking around the idea of going to check it out. I try to get to a game in Calgary every year but I might make it an indoor one. It would be neat to stick around and watch the Calgary Hitmen and Regina Pats play outdoors the next day as well. I am a big Pats fan. Here is a look at the Jersey’s they will be sporting at the classic.
