One of two men charged in connection with a drive-by shooting on the Day Star First Nation has been sentenced.
In Regina Court of Queen’s Bench on Friday, 19-year-old Jaydon Asapace of the Kawacatoose First Nation was given three years in prison, less the 14 and half months credit he was given for remand time.
He had pleaded guilty to Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
His co-accused, 21-year-old Delmont Asapace, returns to court in Wynyard later this month for his Preliminary Hearing.
Back in May of last year, Punnichy R-C-M-P were called to an incident on the Day Star First Nation, and noticed what appeared to be shotgun pellets near the front door of a residence, but no one was injured.
