Every time we have an election, whether Provincial or Federal, I am struck with how lucky I am. Voting in Canada in 2016 is fairly simple. You take your voter card, head to the location where you can vote, a smiling volunteer is there to show you where and how you can vote. You sit behind a partition in privacy, cast your vote, and then you’re done. A simple act that sometimes can take less than 5 minutes.
I know it is not like this for many people around the world. Violence and fearing for your life is something we don’t have to worry about in Canada! I also know it has only been 100 years since women in SK and MB were given the right to vote. That’s not that long!
So I will vote today because I am lucky enough to have the freedom and the right to vote!
