The Conservatives under Brian Pallister swept to power in the Manitoba election, taking 40 of 57 seats. The NDP had 14, the Liberals 3. The NDP’s Greg Selinger won his home riding, but stepped down as leader. In Swan River, Rick Wowchuk upset NDP MLA and Agriculture minister Ron Kostyshyn, Dauphin’s new MLA is Tory Brad Michaleski, while Greg Nesbitt is the new Tory MLA for Riding Mountain. Liberal leader Rana Bokhari failed to win her Winnipeg seat.
