2 Habitat for Humanity partner families were handed the keys to a new duplex at a ceremony held in Yorkton today (Fri).
The duplex is the first of it’s kind in Yorkton and part of a 6 houses, 6 families in 6 years plan.
George Plews, Chariman for Habitat for Humanity Yorkton Chapter says its will be 2018 before the commencement of a new project in the city.
The province provided 130 thousand dollars through Saskatchewan Housing Corporation toward the cost of constructionn of the duplex.
Since March of 2009 the Government of Saskatchewan has commited 7.85 million dollars to Habitat for Humanity across the province.
