It doesn’t happen very often in the Yorkton area, but there was an earthquake early this morning (Mon).
The magnitude was 3 point 8 and it hit at around 4:40 am, 10 kilometres underground, 32 kilometres south east of the city.
Earthquakes Canada says rarely does a quake between 3.5 and 5.4 cause damage, but are often felt.
The Moosomin, Rocanville, Whitewood, Esterhazy, Stockholm, and Wapella areas were effected with a power outage as a result of the quake. But power has since been restored.
