The Melville Millionaires went 2-0 at the SJHL Showcase after a 4-2 win over the Battlefords North Stars at the Legends Arena in Warman.
The North Stars got on the board first just 6:44 in as Reed Delainey would go top shelf on Colby Entz to give the Stars an early 1-0 lead. Then in the late stages of the opening period Connor Logan would take a nice feed in front and would one time it high over the right shoulder of the Mils net minder to give the North Stars a 2-0 lead after 20 mins with the shots 9-8 for the Battlefords.
In the 2nd, the Mils were helped by some North Stars penalty trouble and their PP answered as Keegan Milligan would deflect home his 1st of the season to cut the Mils deficit in half at 2-1. Then just 26 seconds later, Clayton Eisler would one-time home his 1st of the SJHL campaign to make it a 2-2 tie. Tucker Scantlebury would give the Mils their 3rd straight PP goal as he would take a nice feed in front and hammer home his 2nd in as many games to make it a 3-2 Mils lead after 2 periods.
In the 3rd, the Mils would add some insurance with their 4th powerplay goal of the hockey game as Keegan Milligan would go over the left shoulder of Ryan Rewerts for his 2nd of the night to give the Mils their 3rd win of the season, 4-2 over the Battlefords.
Churchbridge product Colby Entz got the start for the Mils and made 24 saves for his 1st SJHL win while North Stars’ goalie Ryan Rewerts made 16 saves in the losing cause.
The Mils next action will be on Friday night as they start a 3 games in 3 nights road trip visiting the Flin Flon Bombers.
Also the Mils acquired 20 year old Eric Sinclair from the Melfort Mustangs to complete another part of the futures in the Mils/Mustangs trade from January.
Sinclair, a Kenora, ON product was named the SJHL’s top Defenseman in 2015/16 and in 2 games this season he had 2 goals, 3 assists for 5 points in 2 games with the 2 time SJHL champion Mustangs.

The Yorkton Terriers got back in the win column after a 3-1 win over the Nipawin Hawks at the Legends Arena.
After a scoreless 1st period, the Terriers would erupt in the 2nd as first up Corwin Stevely would take a nice feed across from Derrick Budz and go top shelf to give Yorkton an early 1-0 lead. Then later in the 2nd on the power play, Tyler Baier would one time a nice feed across from Regan Seiferling to give the Terriers a 2-0 lead after 2 periods of play.
In the 3rd, the Terriers would convert and once again it would happen on the PP as Regan Seiferling would get his 2nd point as he would snipe home a beauty to make it 3-0 Yorkton. The Hawks would get one late as Mike Grant would make a nice move and go shelf on Terrier net miner Greg Maggio but thats as close as they would get as the Terriers got in the win column for the 2nd time this season after a 3-1 victory.
Greg Maggio got the start in goal and was solid once again making 24 saves for the W.
The Terriers will wrap up their SJHL showcase on Tuesday afternoon at 12:30PM when they battle the Flin Flin Bombers from Warman
