A Canadian CF-18 fighter jet crashed near the Alberta-Saskatchewan border.
Royal Canadian Air Force Commander Michael Hood says the pilot died in the crash, which occurred during a training mission.
The accident happened inside the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range in Saskatchewan, according to a spokesman for the Canadian Armed Forces.
In Ottawa, MP’s shared their thoughts on the tragic news; Tory Defence Critic James Bezan says this is a terrible accident while Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan says their hearts and prayers are with the families.
Sajjan also said that it’s too early to make a conclusion on the matter, adding the best course of action for now is to let the Air Force and Armed Forces investigate, before saying any more.
