Cherry Almond Dessert
20 Oreo vanilla cookies, crushed
2 – 4 serving pkgs vanilla instant pudding
2 cups cold 2% milk
2 ½ cups Cool Whip, thaw and divide
½ cup sour cream
1 – 540 ml can cherry pie filling
½ tsp. almond extract
⅓ cup sliced almonds, toasted (optional)
Crush cookies, set aside. Beat pudding mixes with milk in large bowl for 2 minutes. Fold in 1 cup Cool whip and ½ cup sour cream. In wine glasses or large glass bowl cover bottom with cookies and then layer pudding mixture over base. In another bowl mix pie filling and extract then spoon over pudding mixture. Cover with remaining Cool Whip. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving. When ready to serve sprinkle with toasted almonds or crushed cookies.
