The Manitoba government is taking another step towards curbing opioid overdoses in the province.
Health Minister Kelvin Goertzen announced Naloxone kits and other supports are being made available in 5 communities.
They are Winnipeg, The Pas, Thompson, Flin Flon, and Selkirk.
Naloxone is a medication used to reverse the effects of overdoses from opioids, and most effective when administered within minutes of an overdose. But it doesn’t remove the risks associated with drug use.
