The Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan believes the amalgamation of the province’s health regions is a positive development.
Executive Director Ross Fisher is confident that front-line health care workers won’t be affected by the health region merger.
Fisher also says his organization’s fundraising efforts will still be focused on purchasing new medical equipment for health facilities in their current region.
Meantime the CEO of the Sunrise Health Region is taking a “wait and see” approach after hearing of the amalgamation announcement.
Suann Laurent says this isn’t too surprising as she has been through 3 previous amalgamations.
She adds no details have been worked out yet on regional representation on the new “superboard”, and also couldn’t comment on the future of staff at Sunrise.
