Sentencing has been handed down to a Moosomin man who went on a vehicle theft spree, and led police on a high speed chase.
35-year-old Michael Nippard pleaded guilty to 16 charges in Yorkton Provincial Court this (Fri) morning.
Court heard that in November and December, he stole vehicles from Moosomin, Bredenbury, Grayson, and Regina, looking for items that he could sell to fuel his drug addiction.
He was finally arrested on December 5th, after leading Mounties on a chase from Melville to Yorkton that reached speeds of 140 kilometres per hour, and had him traveling for most of the distance on the wrong side of the road.
Nippard was sentenced to 2 years less a day in jail, to be followed by 8 months of probation, and a 2-year driving prohibition.
