A faster broadband network is coming to Yorkton this year, with work beginning in April.
Assistant Vice President of Sasktel Brian Eltom spoke at this (Thurs) afternoon’s Yorkton Chamber Luncheon, explaining the project that will see a fibre optics network deployed directly into customers homes.
Eltom says residents will be notified when work will be occurring in their neighborhood.
Construction is planned to start in April in areas with aerial lines, which could be ready to offer service by late June or July.
Areas with buried lines are expected to take longer and could be February of 2018 before everyone has access to new products and services.
