Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall has previously said the government will consider everything when it comes to dealing with the province’s 1.2 billion dollar deficit.
That could possibly include adjustments to the provinces education system.
An announcement regarding provincial school governance is to be made along with the provincial budget on March 22nd.
Minister of Education Don Morgan has met with school divisions across Saskatchewan discussing the topic of possible transformational change.
As a result, support has been shown for elected school boards throughout the province.
The option has been suggested which would see the provinces 18 school divisions become one, similar to that of the recent merger of all 12 health regions.
