The Saskatchewan government is now in the doghouse, as the union that represents government workers filed a legal challenge against them.
The challenge alleges that the government has undermined the Saskatchewan Government and Employees’ Union ability to negotiate on behalf of its members on benefits and pension.
It also accuses the government of acting in bad faith by proposing wage cuts in the public sector.
In a news release, Union president Bob Bymoen says quote — “Our members should not be hearing about wage cuts, job losses, rollbacks, and unpaid days off through the media”.
A spokesperson from the Saskatchewan Government and Employees’ Union wasn’t available for comment.
