Saskatchewan Agriculture reports seeding progress in the province is now 30% complete. The 5 year average for this time of year is 33% complete. Farmers in east central Saskatchewan have 19% of the 2017 crop in the ground, the 5 year average is 20%. Saskatchewan Agriculture Crops Specialist Shannon Friesen says seeding is most advanced in the southeast, where producers have 60% of the crop in the ground. 46% is seeded in the southwest; 19% in the east-central region; 16% in the west-central region; 8% in the northwest and only 4% in the northeast.
