The Saskatchewan and Federal governments made the joint announcement of infrastructure funding towards the town of Balgonie.
The two levels of government are each providing $1.5 million dollars for Balgonie’s wastewater system, while the town will fund the remainder.
The cost of the project is around $6.4 million.
The project will see the existing sewage lagoon and irrigation system expand, along with other works that will improve the system and better serve the community.
The current system is near capacity.
Construction is expected to begin as early as this summer. Once completed it will be able to serve 6-thousand potential residents.
