A Buchanan man has pleaded guilty to ramming a police cruiser near Canora.
Mounties say they conducted a traffic stop for a burned-out tail light on Highway 5, west of the town, on the evening of May 4th.
After initially pulling over, the suspect vehicle rammed the police vehicle twice.
The adult male driver and lone occupant then got out, carrying an axe, and struck the police vehicle while yelling threats.
In Yorkton Provincial Court this (Thu) morning, 34-year-old Kristopher Steenman admitted to 9 charges, including Flight From Police, Assaulting a Police Officer with a Weapon, Uttering Death Threats, and Driving While Disqualified.
He was sentenced to 3 years in prison, but was given credit for 31 days of time already served in custody.
