“The Juice” will soon be let loose.
Today (Thurs) at his parole hearing, O.J. Simpson found out he can leave prison as early as October 1st, after serving 9 years of a potential 33-year sentence for a bungled armed-robbery at a Las Vegas hotel room.
Simpson claimed that sports memorabilia was stolen from him, and wanted to retrieve it.
The 70-year-old former football star’s reaction to the news was one of pure relief, as he repeatedly thanked the Nevada Parole Board for the decision.
Going into the hearing, sources believed Simpson’s chances of freedom were good, given similar cases and his model behaviour behind bars.
The decision was a unanimous one, and is supported by a lack of a prior conviction, the low risk he might commit another crime, his community support and his release plans.
