Swan River RCMP deemed alcohol as a factor in a motor vehicle pedestrian collision on Sunday (10th).
The incident happened at 3:20 a.m. on Highway 10 about one kilometre south of Mafeking.
Mounties believe a truck – driven by a 46-year-old Birch River man along with a 35-year-old Shoal River First Nation woman who was the passenger – was travelling south when the passenger left the moving vehicle.
The woman was subsequently run over by the trailer that the truck was towing which killed her.
The 46-year-old driver was taken into custody and is facing charges of Impaired Driving Causing Death and Impaired Over 80 Causing Death.
