An Esterhazy man arrested over two years ago on drug and weapons charges, has been sentenced.
In March, 23-year-old Sarwar Habib pleaded guilty to Possession of Cocaine and Crystal Meth for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Hydromorphone and Marijuana, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Possession of a Weapon While Prohibited.
In Yorkton Court of Queen’s Bench this (Wed) morning, he was sentenced to 44 months in prison, but after he was given credit for time served, he only has 7 months and 21 days left behind bars.
Mounties executed a search warrant at a home in Esterhazy in October of 2015.
They seized nearly five pounds of cocaine, one pound of crack cocaine, several ounces of crystal meth, a large amount of Canadian currency, and two firearms.
