Over 25-hundred claims have been made to SGI after the wind-storm last week in Saskatchewan, with property and vehicle damage taking the lion’s share.
When making a claim, SGI’s Tyler McMurchy suggests cleaning up immediately and store any damaged items in a reasonably safe place, so the adjuster can see them when they arrive.
It’s also encouraged to take any video or photographs of damaged property to give to the adjuster. If you’re using a professional service to clean up, McMurchy says keep track of those costs as some of it might be covered by your insurance.
He says it’s best to file a claim as soon as possible with your insurance broker.
